The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Tambuwal made an official announcement of his defection during the House plenary as he is required by law to inform his colleagues of any such intention.
The Speaker has said that he left the PDP due to the agitation of his constituents in Sokoto.
He is expected to contest the governorship elections of the state on the platform of the APC.
